Daniel Sean James, 44, from Pinner, has been charged with murder, attempted murder and possession of a bladed article following the death of a young mother in west London. He is due to appear at Willesden Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday morning.
Victim identified as new mother
The victim has been named as Kirandeep Kaur, a 24-year-old woman who had recently given birth. She was stabbed on Uxbridge Road in Hayes on Sunday morning and died at the scene despite emergency services' efforts. A forensic tent was set up on the high street as police investigated.
Her brother-in-law, Sahib, described her as a 'wonderful mother,' telling Metro: 'She had just had a baby. The family were so happy. We are heartbroken. She was a wonderful mother.' A family friend added: 'She was a mum and a very nice person, really lovely. The family are devastated.'
Second victim injured
A man in his 20s was also injured in the incident. He was found bleeding outside the property and taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, where he remains.
The alarm was raised shortly before 8am on Sunday after reports of a stabbing at a property on Uxbridge Road. A large emergency response ensued, with police cordoning off the area.
