Martin Slezak, 22, of Stanley Street in Welshpool, has been charged with murder following the death of Young John Mongan, 49, from Walsall. The incident occurred on Church Street in Welshpool town centre at 1:16am on Sunday, June 28.

Police were called to reports of an injured man. Despite the efforts of ambulance crews, Mongan was pronounced dead at the scene. Dyfed-Powys Police launched an investigation and later named the victim as Young John Mongan.
