Man Charged with Attempted Murder After Car Hits Pedestrians

Timir Ahmed Mohamed, 34, has been charged with five counts of attempted murder after a vehicle struck pedestrians on Ealing Broadway, a busy west London road, the Metropolitan police said on Sunday. The incident occurred at approximately 2:30pm on Saturday.

Charges and Injuries

In addition to attempted murder, Mohamed faces charges of dangerous driving, failing to stop, failing to provide a specimen of breath for analysis, and criminal damage. Five pedestrians were injured in the alleged incident. Two were treated at the scene, while three were taken to hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening and non-life-changing.

Suspect Details and Court Appearance

Mohamed, a Somalia-born British man, has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear at Willesden Magistrates' Court on Monday. Counter-terrorism policing London conducted initial inquiries but confirmed the incident is not being treated as terrorism.
