A 50-year-old man has been arrested and charged by Police Scotland ten months after an alleged machete attack at a Glasgow pub left a 39-year-old man with serious injuries.
Incident at Bells Bar
Emergency services were called to Bells Bar on Springburn Way in the Springburn area on Friday, September 26, 2025. A man allegedly entered the premises while pub goers were singing karaoke, pulled out a blade, and struck a 39-year-old man. The victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Arrest and Charge
The alleged attack was captured on footage reported at the time. Following an investigation, a 50-year-old man was arrested and charged on Thursday, July 23, 2026. He is expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court at a later date.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "A man has been arrested and charged in connection with a serious assault incident in Springburn. The incident happened at a licenced premises on Springburn Way on Friday, 26 September, 2025. A 39-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries. The 50-year-old man was arrested and charged on Thursday, 23 July, 2026. He is expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court at a later date."
