Incident Details
A 58-year-old man was seriously injured in a collision on Gathurst Road, Wigan, on Tuesday afternoon. The man was acting as a banksman, helping an HGV driver reverse out of a side street, when a car collided with him.
Greater Manchester Police responded to the incident at around 3:30pm on 21 July 2026. The man was taken to hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the car remained at the scene and is assisting police with their enquiries.

GMP's Serious Collision Investigation Unit has issued a public appeal for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward. They are particularly interested in any CCTV, dashcam, doorbell, or mobile phone footage from the area.
