Fred West's Son Claims Rose West Drove Serial Killer to Find Victims

Barry West, the youngest son of serial killers Fred and Rose West, has alleged that his mother actively participated in the murders by driving his father to find victims. The claims are featured in a new ITV documentary, 'Fred and Rose West: The Real Story with Trevor McDonald', airing on Thursday at 9pm.

Barry recounted that at age seven, he heard his mother savagely attack Heather West, one of the couple's 12 known victims. Fred West died by suicide in prison in 1995 while on remand for murdering 12 girls and women. Rose West, now 65, is serving a life sentence at Low Newton prison in County Durham for murdering 10 victims.

Sir Trevor McDonald, who presents the documentary, visited the site of the 'House of Horrors' at 25 Cromwell Street in Gloucester, where nine victims were buried between 1967 and 1987. He suggested that Rose 'probably convinced' victims to get into the car, indicating her involvement in the murders.

The documentary also includes interviews with families of the victims and presents new evidence. Rose West has consistently denied her role in the murders, but the programme suggests she shared Fred's violent tendencies. The couple had five surviving children: Barry, Tara, Louise, Rosemary junior, and Lucyanna.
