Emily Pryor Albino, a 23-year-old dance teacher from Seaford, Delaware, has been arrested and charged with sexually abusing at least two of her underage students. She was taken into custody by Delaware State Police on Thursday after an investigation was launched on Tuesday.
Charges and Arrest
Albino, who taught classes for all ages from toddlers to adults at the X-Treme Dance Studio in Laurel, faces four counts of first-degree sexual abuse of a child by a person of trust and one count of sexual solicitation of a child using a computer, cell phone, or other electronic device.
Police were tipped off about the alleged abuse, leading to her arrest. Detectives have also leveled charges associated with two other people but believe there may be more victims. They are now asking the public for help in identifying any additional potential victims.
Alleged Offenses
It is alleged that Albino exchanged sexually explicit messages with her victims, though no details have been released about their ages or genders. She remains in police custody, and the Delaware State Police's criminal investigations unit is continuing its inquiry.
Potential Sentences
If found guilty, each sexual abuse count carries a potential sentence of up to eight years in prison, with the possibility of life imprisonment depending on the severity and circumstances of the crime. The sexual solicitation charge is punishable by up to 15 years in prison, or up to 25 years if the defendant met or attempted to meet the child in person for a prohibited sexual act, according to Delaware's penal code.
The case is ongoing.
