An "armed and dangerous" woman has been identified as the prime suspect in a Monaco explosion that critically injured a Ukrainian oligarch, a woman, and a teenage boy. Interpol is preparing to issue a Most Wanted red notice for the woman, who is in her 30s, after an arrest warrant was issued.
Suspect Identified by Witness
The woman has not been publicly named but was filmed outside the Sun's Palace, a luxury apartment block owned by the Ukrainian oligarch, Mr. Yermolaiev. Investigators believe she dumped the backpack that exploded in the foyer just before 9 p.m.
"The prime suspect was identified by a witness," said an investigating source. "She is a Ukrainian woman in her thirties. She is armed and dangerous, and thought to be in the company of accomplices. She should be approached with extreme caution."
Escape into France
CCTV footage captured the woman wearing a black bucket hat and long sleeves, fleeing on foot across the border into France, where there are no checkpoints. The explosion critically injured the Ukrainian oligarch, a woman, and a teenage boy, all of whom remain in hospital.
This is a developing story. Authorities continue to search for the suspect and any accomplices.
