Love Island star Adam Collard was supported by his pregnant fiancée, sports presenter Laura Woods, at Newcastle Magistrates' Court on Friday, where his father appeared accused of assaulting him.
Assault Allegation Over Property Dispute
William Collard, known as Billy, 56, is accused of assault by beating following an alleged row with his son last year over ownership of a holiday cottage on his farm in Horsley, Northumberland. The court heard he allegedly grabbed Adam, ripped his shirt, and left reddening to his neck. William denies the offence.
Trial Delayed
The trial was delayed for two hours before staff confirmed it could not proceed due to lack of court time. William will return to the same court for his trial on November 27. The alleged assault took place when Adam turned up at the property on September 5 last year.
Couple's Relationship
Adam, 30, and Laura, 38, who started dating in October 2023, arrived separately but were seen holding hands. They announced the birth of their son Leo last year and are now expecting their second child. Adam proposed in September 2024, and they plan a 2026 wedding.
Speaking about their romance, Adam previously said: “The first time we met – I’ll hold my hands up – I did DM her first and got a reply but then nothing ever happened. Then she called us out for basically leaving her on read.”
He also shared how fatherhood changed him: “I've got a purpose now, whereas for years I felt like I was in limbo.” Describing Leo as “100 miles an hour”, he added: “He's a handful but so funny and everything we've ever wanted. Being a dad is great, but it's challenging, too, I'd never sugar-coat that. But it's put everything into perspective.”
