Concern is growing for the welfare of a 16-year-old boy who disappeared from a Welsh holiday resort on Sunday as the search for him enters its fourth day.
Community joins search
Community groups have been coming together from across Talacre to search for missing Rhys, who has been described as vulnerable due to his neurodiversity. Rhys' mum has said he was seen on CCTV moving inland, away from the beach and holiday park where he was staying with his family.
Rhys was on holiday with his family at Talacre Beach Resort, but has not been seen since about 7.30pm on Sunday, July 19.
Mother's plea
In a public statement, Rhys' mum Siobhan said: "He became a high risk to police at about 3am today, so now, it’s all hands on deck."
"There’s about 20 people here looking for him, but more people are out on cars and bikes, looking for him, too. Search and rescue helicopter and drones are on their way."
"We came for a weekend away… it was a brilliant holiday, until this."
"I’m aware that everybody’s sharing the story, so thank you. If Rhys sees it, don’t be frightened. You’re not in any trouble. Please just ask anybody for help to call the police."
Police appeal
Police say Rhys is believed to be wearing a red t shirt, black shorts and black sliders and carrying a blue man bag. He has links to the St Helens area of Merseyside.
A North Wales Police spokesperson said: "We continue to search for Rhys (16)."
"Rhys was last seen at the Talacre Beach Resort on Sunday 19th July at around 7.30pm."
"Rhys is thought to be wearing a red t shirt, black shorts and black sliders and carrying a blue man bag."
"He has links to the St Helens area of Merseyside."
