Robin Jackson, a paedophile with a history of sexual offences, has died in prison. He passed away at HMP Northumberland on 11 July, and the Prisons and Probation Ombudsman is investigating his death.
Recent conviction
Jackson was imprisoned in May after searching online for "boys in Speedos". He was dragged back to court in April this year after accessing pornographic material online. Using the search term "boys in speedos", he viewed images of children as young as six years old in swimwear.
Long criminal history
Jackson, who had previous addresses in Middlesbrough, Guisborough, Brotton and Hartlepool, had convictions for sexual offences dating back to 1975. These included exposing himself in 1975, 1981, 1983, 1989, 1995 and 2009, making or possessing indecent images of children in 1997, 2000 and 2006, gross indecency with a child in 1992, and assaulting a boy in 1998.
In 2016, he was found seeking potential victims at Seaton Carew. During that incident, he confessed he would have approached a teenage boy given the opportunity, after being discovered in the sand dunes wearing only shorts and in a state of sexual arousal.
Further offences
Then in September 2025 he was jailed after being caught printing pornographic pictures at a Boots in Guisborough. Jackson, previously residing on Thornton Street, Middlesbrough, had been under a sexual offences prevention order since 2009, intended to safeguard the public.
He was out on licence when he committed the two latest breaches and was subsequently sentenced to an additional two years and six months in prison.
