A missing mother has been found dead at her home in Croydon, south London, in what police are describing as unexplained circumstances.
Nicole Beling, 60, was reported missing by a family member at approximately 12.05am on July 17. Officers attended her home in Dittoncroft Close, near Lloyd Park, later that morning and discovered her body.
Arrest and investigation
A 61-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder and later released under investigation. He was re-arrested on August 1 and has since been bailed.
Nicole's cause of death remains unexplained, and police have issued a public appeal for information, urging anyone with knowledge to come forward.
Tribute from sister
Nicole's sister, Suze Bonds, described her sibling as 'beautiful' in a Facebook post, appealing for Croydon residents to share the police appeal. In a tribute posted in July, she wrote: 'We knew each other's deepest secrets and were always there for each other through thick and thin. I can't believe I will never see you again, share any more laughs, which we did so much when we were together. No more partying, no more hugs. I will miss that laugh and don't think my life will be the same ever again, you have taken a piece of my heart with you.'
Police had classified Nicole as a high-risk missing person, meaning her disappearance required 'immediate deployment' of officers, according to the College of Policing. Factors such as the risk of crime, exploitation, or harm are considered in such cases.

Detective Chief Inspector Alison Foxwell said: 'A formal murder investigation has not been launched at this time and we are keeping an open mind as to the circumstances surrounding Nicole's sad death. We want to hear from anyone who knew Nicole or may have information that could assist the investigation – and help us find answers for her family. My thoughts remain with Nicole's family and loved ones.'
