Missing man's car found near Scots bridge

Police searching for a man who has been missing for five days have found his car abandoned near a bridge in Perth and Kinross.

Sandy Scott Barron's family have not heard from the 37-year-old since Saturday, July 18. He is now being treated as a missing person after his black Dacia Duster car, registration SD67 SXG, was discovered.

Car found near Tummel Bridge

The vehicle was discovered on a track off the B846 south of Tummel Bridge, near Pitlochry, at around 5.30pm on Wednesday, July 22. Enquiries are now ongoing to find the missing man from Inverbervie in Aberdeenshire.

He has been described as being white, 5ft 11in tall and of slim build with short brown hair.

Police appeal for information

Sergeant Colin Duff, of Perth Police Station, said: “We are working to establish Sandy’s movements and I would urge anyone who believes they may have seen him or his black Dacia Duster at any point in recent days to get in touch as a matter of urgency.

“From enquiries carried out so far, it is possible he may have travelled in the direction of Kinloch Rannoch. If anyone believes they may have seen him, please call 101 quoting reference 2645 of July 22.”
