A man has died after falling from a construction site in the heart of Mayfair, close to a five-star hotel. The incident occurred at approximately 1:51 PM on Thursday at the junction of Berkeley Street and Stratton Street, a prestigious area in central London.
Emergency Response
Emergency services, including the Metropolitan Police and London Ambulance Service, were called to the scene. Despite their efforts, a man in his 30s was pronounced dead at the scene. His next-of-kin have been informed and are receiving support from specialist officers.
Investigation Underway
The Health and Safety Executive has been notified about the incident. Berkeley Street and Stratton Street have been closed to facilitate the investigation. The death occurred near the five-star May Fair Hotel on Stratton Street, which is also close to the world-famous Ritz Hotel on Piccadilly.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “Police were called at around 13:51hrs on Thursday, 9 July following reports that a man had fallen from height on a construction site at the junction of Berkeley Street and Stratton Street, W1. Officers attended with the London Ambulance Service. Sadly, a man in his 30s was pronounced dead at the scene. His next-of-kin have been informed and are being supported by officers. Berkeley Street and Stratton Street have been closed while enquiries continue. The Health and Safety Executive have been informed about the incident.”
