Emergency services and investigators from the Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) have been dispatched to the scene of a light aircraft crash in a field near the Essex village of High Ongar. The incident occurred at approximately 1:30pm on 30 June 2026.
Scene Cordoned Off
A field near High Ongar has been cordoned off, with police, ambulance, and fire crews in attendance. Essex Police confirmed officers are at the scene and will release further details within the next hour. The AAIB stated it has launched an investigation and sent a team of inspectors to the accident site.
Location and Response
High Ongar is located eight miles west of Chelmsford, near Chipping Ongar, and lies close to the A414 road linking Chelmsford and Harlow. The East of England Ambulance Service has been contacted for comment. No information on casualties has been released so far.
