Merseyside Police issued a warning following the deaths of four men in a crash in Huyton in the early hours of Friday. People living nearby have spoken of their sadness after the men, two aged 23, a 24-year-old and a 26-year-old were all pronounced dead at the scene on Liverpool Road.
Police confirm fatalities and hospitalisation
Police issued a statement confirming the news on the afternoon of Friday, July 24. As they confirmed the fatalities, police also said a 27-year-old man, a passenger in the car, was taken to hospital and remained there in a stable condition.
A large police scene is currently in place and there are road closures on Shellingford Road, Prescot Road, Liverpool Road, Somerset Road, Back Dovecot Place, Dovecot Place, Taurus Road, Turriff Road, Dinas Lane, Lordens Road and Fincham Road.
Road closures and drone restrictions
As part of the force's update, police confirmed road closures on Liverpool Road and East Prescot Road, which is currently closed in both directions from its junction with Finch Lane to its junction with Princess Drive, are likely to remain in place over the coming weekend.
A temporary flight restriction zone, specifically affecting drones, is also in place above Liverpool Road in Huyton. The restriction regulations are under article 239 of the Air Navigation Order 2016.
No drones are permitted to fly within the area outlined in the attached map. Drone users flying inside the Restricted Airspace that have not been granted permission will be guilty of committing an offence and could be prosecuted as well as having their equipment seized and confiscated.
The force issued a warning over the restrictions and a map showing the restricted area. Merseyside Police drones, air ambulances, Fire Service drones and NPAS are excluded from the airspace restriction, the force said.

Superintendent Paul Holden said: "First and foremost our thoughts are with the family of the four men who sadly lost their lives following the collision in the early hours of this morning."
