A serving Durham Constabulary officer has been arrested on suspicion of rape, the force has confirmed. The officer was arrested and suspended earlier this month.
Criminal investigation launched
Durham Constabulary says that its Professional Standards Department has launched a criminal investigation. The officer has been released on bail as enquiries continue.
