Drug dealer Cairo Taylor has been jailed after he was caught on police bodycam trying to evade officers by climbing onto scaffolding. The 29-year-old was sentenced at Manchester Crown Court on Friday, September 25, after previously pleading guilty to 16 offences relating to the supply of class A and class B drugs.
Taylor, of Elmira Way, Salford, was jailed for five years. His arrest followed an investigation into the chemsex scene, which led to police raiding two flats in Salford.
Police raid and arrest
Greater Manchester Police released body worn footage showing officers using a battering ram to break down the door of Taylor's flat. Officers chased Taylor through the flat, shouting at him to 'stay where he is'. As Taylor climbed through a window, the pursuing officer can be heard saying 'get here now' before following him onto the scaffolding outside.
Taylor then stopped, turned around, and was handcuffed. A second man was arrested but no further action was brought against him.
Drugs found and investigation
During the raid, officers found huge quantities of crystal methamphetamine and ketamine, as well as a 20-litre barrel containing a chemical believed to be used in the enhancement of the drugs.
The investigation, Operation Eastnor, was part of GMP's wider work with partners and LGBTQ+ communities to raise awareness of chemsex-related harms, encourage reporting, and safeguard those who may be vulnerable or at risk.
Evidence of high-level supply
The investigation found evidence suggesting Taylor was operating at a high level, identifying him as a prominent supplier within Manchester's chemsex scene, supplying substances associated with high-risk sexual activity and exploitation.
Further analysis of Taylor's mobile phone showed received messages and materials indicating that he had been making efforts to chemically alter and improve the quality of the drugs before supplying them.
