Kathleen Maceachen, formerly of Whitley Bay and late of Cullercoats, died unexpectedly in hospital on 20th June at the age of 85. She was the dearly loved wife of the late Angus and a much-loved mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother. A Requiem Mass will be held at St. Edward's R.C. Church, Whitley Bay on Wednesday 8th July at 11:45am, followed by private cremation. Jean McAnaney

Jean McAnaney of Gateshead passed away peacefully at Chesters Care Home on 25th June 2026, aged 89. She was the adored wife of Frank, much-loved mam to Christine, Jean, and Alan, and beloved grandmother and great-grandmother. A funeral service will take place on Monday 13th July at 2:30pm at Birtley Crematorium. Family flowers only; donations to the Alzheimer's Society are welcome. Patricia (Mayhew) McDonnell

Patricia (Pat) McDonnell, formerly known as Mayhew, passed away peacefully after a long illness on 7th June 2026, aged 86. She was a loving sister to Shirley and the late Dennis. The funeral will be held at West Road Crematorium on Friday 10th July 2026 at 12noon. Donations to the Alzheimer's Society are welcome.

Janet (Jean) Moat

Janet (Jean) Moat of Hexham, late of Longbenton, passed away peacefully at Charlotte Straker House, Corbridge on 22nd June 2026, aged 91. She was the much-loved wife of the late George and devoted mum to Paul, Lesley, and Garry. The funeral service will be at West Road Crematorium on Thursday 2nd July at 11:15am. John (Boston Jake) Newark

John Newark, known as Boston Jake, of The Westend, passed away peacefully on 15th June at age 82. He was the beloved husband of the late Lorraine and stepfather to Ryan. Neil Nicholson

Neil Nicholson passed away peacefully in hospital on 24th June, aged 84. He was the beloved husband of Margaret, dad of Simon and Michele, and devoted brother, grandad, and great-grandad. Viv Pascoe, formerly Bell Hadston, passed away peacefully on 24th June 2026, aged 81. She was the beloved wife of David, loving mam to Tracey and Darren, and devoted grandma. Pauline (Née Slipper) Quinn

Pauline Quinn of Fenham passed away peacefully on 21st June 2026, aged 80. She was the loving wife of the late Arthur, adored mam of Tony, Michael, and Kerry, and devoted grandma and great-grandma. Service at West Road Crematorium on Tuesday 21st July 2026 at 1:30pm. Floral tributes welcome or donations to The Brain Tumour Charity. Attendees are invited to wear green in her honour.

Stewart Reid of South Gosforth passed away peacefully on 28th June 2026, aged 91. He was the beloved husband of the late Shirley, father of Angela and David, and adored grandad. William Routledge (Bill)

William Routledge died at home on 21st June 2026, aged 91. He was the well-liked and respected son of Byker, now reunited with his late wife Sheila and son William. Andrew Raymond (Simmaz) Simpson

Robert Charlton (Wilkie) Wilkinson

Wilkie Wilkinson of Hazlerigg Village died peacefully in hospital. He was a brother to David and uncle to Linda & Paul. Funeral strictly private.
