Father Accused of Exposing Himself Four Times Before Raid
Gary Siders Jr, 36, the father of 16 children found living in deplorable conditions in Hamden, Ohio, was charged with four counts of public indecency in the month leading up to the police raid on June 30, according to PEOPLE. The incidents occurred on May 23, 27, 29, and 31, 2026. The charges allege violations of an Ohio code that prohibits “recklessly exposing the person’s private parts,” but no further details have been released.
Children Rescued from 'Pure Evil' Conditions
Police raided the Siders family home on June 30, discovering 16 children aged between 18 months and 18 years living in squalor. Ohio Attorney General Andy Wilson described the scene as “pure evil.” Vinton County Sheriff Ryan Cain stated, “Most of our livestock was kept in better conditions than the children. Just a disgusting scene.” Human waste was found throughout the home. Several children were in serious condition, with two airlifted to Level One trauma centers.
Children Unable to Speak, Write
Investigators reported that some of the children were unable to speak, and an 18-year-old with developmental disabilities could not write her own name. The children are believed to belong to Gary Siders Jr and his partner Elizabeth Siders. Gary Siders Sr, the grandfather, and Christina Siders, the grandmother, were also arrested.
Gag Order Sought to Block Information
Gary Siders Jr has reportedly obtained a gag order to prevent further information disclosure. Other family members are also seeking similar orders. Gary Siders Sr was released from jail and hospitalized due to undisclosed health issues. Each adult faces 17 counts of child endangerment, a second-degree felony, related to allegations of serious physical harm.
