Constance Marten has been banned from all contact with her lover Mark Gordon as the pair await sentencing for the manslaughter of their newborn daughter, according to a prison source. Marten, 38, and Gordon, 51, were found guilty last month of gross negligence manslaughter after the decomposing body of baby Victoria was discovered in Brighton.
The source at HMP Bronzefield, where Marten is held, told the Daily Mail that inter-prison phone calls and letters from Marten to Gordon at HMP Belmarsh have been blocked. Staff have reportedly been instructed that there is "not a chance" the two can communicate.
Marten has been sending letters to Gordon but is unaware that none have been delivered, as all correspondence is vetted by security. The source said she will be "fuming" when she learns her letters are not reaching him.
Despite Gordon's status as a convicted rapist, whom Marten calls "Daddy Bear," she reportedly still believes they have a future together. A fellow inmate at Bronzefield said Marten admitted to deliberately blurting out Gordon's rape convictions during her trial in an attempt to sabotage proceedings and force a retrial.
The couple are due to be sentenced later this year for the death of their daughter, whose remains were found in a shopping bag in Brighton in March 2023.
