Samantha Lee, 31, was struck off last week after sexually assaulting five female colleagues at a care home in Larbert, Stirlingshire. She was found guilty of seven charges of sexual assault following a summary trial at Falkirk Sheriff Court in March.
Management at the care home launched an investigation after the initial complaint, leading four further victims to come forward. Lee avoided jail earlier this year but has now been removed from the register by the Scottish Social Service Council (SSSC).
Details of the assaults
Lee targeted her own colleagues in a campaign of sexual assaults between January 1 and July 17, 2024. She was found to have hit, seized and struck victims' breasts, nipples and buttocks. One victim, who had returned to work that day after a medical episode, was grabbed by the head and pulled into Lee's chest. The woman told the court: “She pulled my head into her cleavage and shook her breasts.”
Lee also made comments about the woman's partner's private parts and slapped her on the bottom in the dining room in front of residents. A colleague said Lee had been “hitting her boobs”. The 51-year-old victim said she felt “kind of violated” and was on a waiting list for a mammogram for bumps at the time.
Lee resigned her post as a carer and police were called. She was put on a year of social work supervision and placed on the sex offenders’ register for 12 months before being banned from the profession during an SSSC hearing on Friday, July 10.
Other carers struck off
Mompati Dodo Isaacs, a carer, was jailed for the murder of his wife Keotshepile Naso Isaacs, 33, on New Year's Day 2024. He stabbed her nine times in the head and neck at their home in North Berwick. He was found guilty of murder in September 2025 and sentenced to a minimum of 21 years. The SSSC removed him from the register last month.
Megan Neilson performed a sex act on her disabled client in a car at the Falkirk Wheel in 2022. She was found guilty after a trial at Hamilton Sheriff Court and ordered to carry out 300 hours of unpaid work, tagged for a year, and placed on the sex offenders' register for five years. She was struck off by the SSSC in May.
Aija Cernevica battered and strangled a dog to death at Orr’s Trust Public Park in Beith in May last year. She admitted the killing in January and is serving a three-year sentence. The SSSC removed her from the register in May.
Debbie McWhannell lost control of a disabled wheelchair user's chair on an escalator at Easterhouse shopping centre in Glasgow on July 15, 2023. Catherine Muir, 71, fell and sustained a serious jaw injury, dying in hospital 11 days later. McWhannell was convicted under the Health and Safety at Work Act in June 2025 and tagged for six months. She was struck off by the SSSC in April.
