Queensland Police have launched a major investigation following the discovery of a woman's body in the northern Brisbane suburb of Taigum on Monday afternoon, in what authorities are treating as a suspicious death.

Emergency services were called to a residential property on Handford Road shortly after 3:30pm following reports of a sudden death. Upon arrival, officers discovered the deceased woman, whose identity and age have not yet been formally released to the public.
