The body of a woman was recovered from the sea off the coast in Llandudno on Wednesday. Emergency services were alerted to a woman's body in the water at approximately 10.30am.
Emergency response
Police, coastguard and RNLI lifeboat crews were all dispatched to the scene and the woman's body was recovered from the water on the West Shore side of the Great Orme by mid morning.
The woman was transported by an RNLI crew to the lifeboat station in Conwy where police erected a cordon to prevent members of the public from approaching.
Statements from responders
An RNLI spokesperson said: "We can confirm that at 10.45am on August 26 Conwy RNLI's D class inshore lifeboat was launched and a casualty was recovered from the water by the volunteer crew and transferred to Conwy lifeboat station."
A Coastguard spokesperson said: "HM Coastguard sent a HM Coastguard helicopter, a Coastguard rescue team, and an RNLI lifeboat to an incident at Gogarth Bay, Llandudno, reported at about 10.40am on August 26."
