British Transport Police have released CCTV images of a woman they wish to speak to after a man was seriously injured on a train from Manchester.

Incident details

The assault took place on a Chester-bound service that had departed from Manchester Piccadilly. At around 11.25pm on Saturday (August 1), a woman struck a man in the face with a sharp object as the train arrived at Warrington Bank Quay station.

The victim sustained a serious injury to his eye. The woman exited the train immediately after the attack.

Appeal for information

British Transport Police have issued two CCTV images of the woman they believe may have information that could help their investigation. The woman pictured, or anyone who recognises her, is urged to come forward.
