Shocking footage has captured the moment a woman was sent flying by a speeding car in what witnesses have described as a targeted attack in Abbey Wood, southeast London. The incident, which occurred on March 8, shows a red car swinging sharply around a corner before veering directly toward the victim and ramming her from behind without braking.
The woman, believed to be in her 20s, was thrown across the road as she attempted to enter a parked car. Residents rushed to her aid, with one telling the Daily Mail: 'That poor woman looks like she was targeted. It's appalling. The driver did not stop. How on earth did that happen? The whole street is in shock.'
The Metropolitan Police confirmed an investigation is underway, stating: 'We realise the concern this incident will cause the local community and want to reassure that detectives are working at pace to identify the suspect. Enquiries are ongoing, and we are keeping an open mind about any possible motive at this stage.'
Paramedics arrived within five minutes and treated the woman at the scene before taking her to hospital. Her condition was described as not life-threatening or life-changing, and she has since been discharged. No arrests have been made.
