Two men have been arrested after a woman was allegedly raped in Doncaster. Officers from South Yorkshire Police were called at 2:09 am last Saturday (May 2) to reports of a rape in Mexborough. It is reported that a woman was raped by two men on Bank Street.
Arrests and Bail
Following an investigation, a 48-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of rape, and a 45-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault on Sunday (May 2). Both have been bailed pending further enquiries.
Suspect Descriptions
One of the suspects was described as white, around 5 feet 10 inches tall, of average build, and bald. The second suspect was described as white, around 6 feet tall, and of slim build. The woman is receiving specialist support.
Police Statement
Detective Chief Inspector Susannah Wagstaff said: "We know that news of this incident will cause concern in our local communities, but I want to reassure you that we have a team of detectives working hard to progress this investigation."
