A woman was taken to hospital after a collision in Didsbury on Friday morning. Emergency services, including police and paramedics, were called to Wilmslow Road at 9.48am following reports from the scene.
Images shared on social media showed a cordon in place as ambulance crews attended to the woman. Greater Manchester Police confirmed she was a pedestrian.
Injuries not life-threatening
A force spokesperson said she was taken to hospital for treatment, but her injuries do not appear to be life-threatening. No further details have been released and no age for the woman has been confirmed.
The collision involved a car, said GMP, but it was not further described. The incident took place near the M&S store on Wilmslow Road.
Witness accounts
Witnesses described the aftermath, saying the air ambulance was alerted. The police cordon has now been removed after investigations.
One witness said: "There was maybe seven police cars and a police helicopter. I've heard whisperings that she's okay though. There was a cordon in place from about 10am to 11am."
Another witness said: "I saw a police van drive past, followed by an ambulance and two police cars. They started blocking off the crossing here. I stepped outside and saw police all around, there was three buses in a line."
"We got a message saying that the air ambulance was coming. I found out someone had been knocked over. We got a message from our boss who talked to other people around here, saying that she was okay."
