Woman Dies in Birmingham Audi Crash; Drug-Driving Arrest Made

A 28-year-old woman has died after being struck by an Audi in Birmingham, despite efforts by police and paramedics to save her. West Midlands Police were called to Dartmouth Middleway shortly before 2:30am on Thursday after reports of a collision involving a pedestrian and a black Audi RSQ8.

A 22-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving while under the influence of drugs. He remains in police custody for questioning.

The road was closed in both directions between Jennens Road and Great Lister Street for nearly 12 hours as emergency services attended the scene. Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dash cam footage to come forward.
