Police are investigating the unexplained death of a woman who was found unconscious in a tent at Houghton Festival in Norfolk on Sunday.
Emergency services were alerted at 6.10pm and attended the scene, where the woman was pronounced dead despite the efforts of paramedics. Her next of kin have been informed.
Death not thought to be suspicious
Norfolk Constabulary said the death is currently being treated as unexplained but is not thought to be suspicious, according to The Mirror. Enquiries are continuing.
Festival statement
A spokesperson for Houghton Festival said: “We are deeply saddened to confirm that a person has passed away at Houghton 2026.
“Our thoughts are entirely with their family and loved ones at this difficult time.
“We are grateful to our onsite medical team, event response team and Norfolk Constabulary, who all responded immediately.
“We continue to work closely with the relevant authorities to support in any way we can with their investigations.”
