A 28-year-old woman has died after being struck by an Audi in Birmingham, despite efforts by police and paramedics to save her. West Midlands Police were called to Dartmouth Middleway at around 2:30am on Thursday following reports of a collision involving a pedestrian and a black Audi RSQ8.
A 22-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving while under the influence of drugs. He remains in police custody for questioning.
The road was closed in both directions between Jennens Road and Great Lister Street for almost 12 hours while emergency services attended the scene. Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.
