A woman in her 30s was attacked by a gang of women wielding a baseball bat in St Helens, Merseyside Police have confirmed. The assault occurred around 2am on Saturday, June 20, on a grassy area near Ashcroft Street in Parr. The victim fled to Ashcroft Service Station for help but was attacked again at the location.
Victim Hospitalised with Multiple Injuries
The woman sustained facial injuries, swelling, and leg injuries, and was taken to hospital for treatment. Police have conducted extensive CCTV and witness enquiries and have now released a CCTV image of a group of people at Ashcroft Service Station to aid the investigation.
Police Appeal for Information
Detective Inspector Leanne Toole said: “This was an awful attack and we are exploring all lines of enquiry and would appeal to anyone who information to please contact us. In addition I am appealing to the group of people featured in the CCTV footage, or anyone who recognises them to come forward. We believe they could hold information, including witnessing the attack, which could be vital to our continuing enquiries.”
