
A 37-year-old woman has been arrested in North Ayrshire after allegedly assaulting a police officer during a reported disturbance.
Shona Stevens was taken into custody following the incident, which occurred in the early hours of the morning. Police were called to the scene after receiving reports of a disturbance at a residential property.
According to authorities, Stevens became aggressive when officers arrived, leading to an altercation in which one officer was allegedly assaulted. The officer did not sustain serious injuries but was treated as a precaution.
Stevens has been charged in connection with the incident and is expected to appear in court at a later date.
Local residents expressed shock at the incident, describing the area as typically quiet. "It's usually very peaceful here," said one neighbour. "You don’t expect something like this to happen."
Police have urged anyone with further information to come forward as investigations continue.
