Four Arrested After Brawl on Westminster Bridge Leaves Man Critically Ill

A brawl on Westminster Bridge has left a man in a critical condition in hospital, with police arresting four people on suspicion of attempted murder and affray. The Metropolitan Police were called to the scene at around 10:45am on Sunday after reports of a fight on the bridge, which is close to the Houses of Parliament.

Officers initially believed the man had been stabbed, but further enquiries have confirmed he suffered a cardiac arrest. Investigations are ongoing to determine how he came to suffer the cardiac arrest. Two of those arrested have been treated in hospital for head injuries.

The incident is not being treated as terrorism, and police have described it as an isolated occurrence. The bridge was closed to traffic in both directions, and several bus routes were diverted. London's Air Ambulance also attended the scene.
