A teenage boy remains in critical condition following a targeted shooting just metres from Wembley Stadium, in a shocking incident that has rattled the Brent community. The attack occurred on Atlantic Crescent, a residential street neighbouring the national football ground, prompting a major response from armed police and paramedics.
Metropolitan Police officers rushed to the scene shortly after 9:30pm on Wednesday night following reports of gunfire. They discovered a youth, believed to be in his late teens, suffering from a gunshot wound.
Critical Condition and Scene Investigation
Emergency services, including London Air Ambulance medics, performed urgent medical treatment at the location before rushing the victim to a major trauma centre. Police have confirmed his condition is life-threatening.
Forensic teams have cordoned off a significant section of Atlantic Crescent as they scour for evidence. Detective Superintendent Neil Tankey, leading the investigation, stated: "This was a shocking incident that has left a young man with very serious injuries. We are supporting his family at this incredibly difficult time."
Appeal for Witnesses in Urgent Manhunt
Police believe this was a targeted attack and are now hunting for at least two suspects seen fleeing the scene. Detectives are urgently appealing to local residents, motorists with dashcam footage, and anyone who was in the area around 9:30pm to come forward.
Det. Supt. Tankey added: "A number of people were in the area at the time, and I would urge them to contact us immediately. Your information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, could be vital."
No arrests have been made yet. The investigation continues as police work to establish a motive and identify those responsible for the violent attack.
