The arrests came to light on Friday when a spokesman for South Wales Police stated: "We have been made aware that two 17-year-old boys from Cardiff have been arrested in Thailand. We are investigating the circumstances which led to the boys travelling to Thailand. This is a very concerning time for the families and wider community. We currently have limited information on the arrests but officers are gathering as much information as possible."
