Greater Manchester Police have confirmed that Muiz Olatunji, a 25-year-old man who escaped from lawful custody, remains on the run. The force issued an urgent public appeal on Sunday, June 28, urging anyone who sees him not to approach him and to call police immediately.
Details of the Escape and Description
Olatunji, who is of no fixed abode but from Salford, is described as a black male of medium build, with black Afro hair, and approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall. He is believed to have links to Glasgow and Scotland, in addition to Greater Manchester.
According to a spokesperson for GMP, Olatunji was previously charged earlier this year with assault offences after allegedly attacking three custody officers and staff on New Year's Day.
Police Appeal and Public Warning
“If you see him, do not approach him – call the police immediately,” the appeal read. “Anybody with information regarding the whereabouts of Olatunji is asked to contact police on 101 or contact the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111. Always dial 999 in an emergency.”
Police have stressed that Olatunji should not be approached under any circumstances. Members of the public are urged to report any sightings or information that could help locate him.
