A man has been interviewed by British Transport Police after allegedly assaulting a naked passenger who exposed himself on a London Underground train. The incident occurred on a Hammersmith and City line service at around 3.30pm on Thursday, with footage showing the suspect dropping his trousers and shouting obscenities.
When challenged by commuters at Upton Park station, a fight broke out as up to four men attempted to restrain the individual, who refused to pull up his trousers. The naked man was later detained under the Mental Health Act and taken to hospital, where he remains sectioned.
Police confirmed that the man had been assaulted by other passengers before being arrested by an off-duty officer. One man involved in the assault has been interviewed, and the investigation is ongoing. No arrests have been made so far.
Detectives are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which also involved the group punching and kicking the man to the floor before throwing him off the train at East Ham station. Passengers waited with him on the platform until help arrived.
