Police Scotland has launched an urgent appeal to trace a 15-year-old schoolboy who disappeared in Edinburgh five days ago. James Boyle has not been seen since 11am on Wednesday, September 23.
The teenager was last spotted in the Trinity area of the capital. Officers have asked the public for help in finding him.
Description and clothing
James is described as a white male, 15 years of age, and of slim build. When he was last seen, he was wearing a black North Face beanie hat, a black trailburge jacket, black shorts and black trainers.

A spokesperson for the force said: "Officers in Edinburgh are appealing for the public’s help to trace 15-year-old James Boyle, who has been reported missing from the Trinity area since 11am on Wednesday 23rd of September 2026 James is a white male 15 years of age and of slim build."
"When last seen he was wearing a black North Face beanie hat, black trailburge jacket, black shorts and black trainers. Anyone with information regarding James’ whereabouts is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting reference 1851 25th September 2026."
