An urgent search is under way for a missing 14-year-old girl who was last seen at a train station in Kent in freezing conditions late at night.
Maisie Cornish was last spotted at Maidstone train station at around 11pm on Tuesday, December 30, and police believe she may have caught a train to London. She is described as approximately 5ft 1in tall, with straight blonde hair and blue eyes, and was thought to be wearing a grey tracksuit, a black bodywarmer and light brown New Balance trainers.
Kent Police have appealed for anyone who may have seen Maisie to come forward. In a statement, the force said: “Maisie Cornish was last seen at Maidstone train station at around 11pm on Tuesday 30 December 2025, where it is believed she may have caught a train to London.” Officers urge anyone with critical information to call 999, while other information can be passed on via 101 or the live chat function on the Kent Police website, quoting reference 31-0452.
The public have taken to social media to share the appeal, with one person writing: “Hope she is found safe and well very soon,” and another adding: “I pray if she sees this she will contact her family or someone she trusts and let them know she is safe and well.”
In a separate incident, officers are also searching for a young mother in her 20s who left a hospital in Romford, east London, shortly after giving birth. The baby remains in hospital under staff care and is in good health. Detective Inspector Neil Godwin said it was “extremely important” for anyone with information to come forward so the woman can get the right support.
