Belgian tourist Hector Patemore, 45, is missing on the Isle of Skye after planning to climb Sgurr Na Banachdich in the Cuillin Mountains. He was last seen leaving a youth hostel in Torrin.

Urgent hunt for Belgian tourist missing on Isle of Skye hike

A Belgian tourist has been reported missing after going for a hike on the Isle of Skye.

Hector Patemore, 45, was last seen at around 10.45am yesterday. He planned to climb Sgurr Na Banachdich, coming down via Coire Na Banachdich in the Cuillin Mountain area.

Last sighting

The last sighting of the hiker was as he left the Youth Hostel in Glen Brittle in Torrin to begin his walk.
