According to airline officials, the emergency landing was prompted by a security concern involving an unruly passenger. Social media posts from passengers described a mid-flight struggle and claimed the individual was speaking Russian and tried to force their way into the cockpit.
United Airlines confirmed the incident in a statement, saying the aircraft landed safely to address the situation. The airline noted that there were 147 passengers and six crew members aboard the Boeing 737, and no injuries were reported.
