Two women have been arrested after a three-year-old boy fell from a first-floor window in Rochdale and is fighting for life in hospital.
Emergency services were called to Spotland Tops, in the Cutgate area of the town, shortly after 4.15pm on Saturday, August 22. Police and paramedics responded, with the air ambulance spotted landing nearby.
Child in critical condition
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said the child was taken to hospital, where he is currently in a critical condition.
In an update issued on Sunday evening, the force said two women, aged 19 and 20, had been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury to a child. They were detained at an address in Blackburn, Lancashire, earlier that day.
Enquiries ongoing
"Enquiries into the full circumstances around this incident are ongoing," the force added in a statement.
