Two men have been arrested after a third man was seriously injured in an alleged disturbance in Glasgow. Police sealed off residential streets around Queen's Park following the incident on Monday night, August 10.
Emergency services were alerted to the disturbance on Balvicar Drive shortly after 7pm. A heavy police presence was in place overnight on Pollokshaws Road, with blue tape erected around Balvicar Street and Queen's Drive, at the Queen's Park Hotel.
Victim hospitalised
A 31-year-old man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital after sustaining serious injuries during the incident. Police Scotland confirmed that two men, aged 25 and 33, have been arrested in connection with the incident.
No further details were shared by police as enquiries to establish the full circumstances remain ongoing.
Scene remains sealed
Photos taken at the scene last night show multiple police vehicles and ambulances parked on the road. Uniformed officers appear to be stationed from Strathbungo to the opposite end of the popular park.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Two men, aged 33 and 25, have been arrested following a disturbance in the Balvicar Drive area of Glasgow reported around 7.05pm on Monday, 10 August. A 31-year-old man sustained serious injuries and was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment. Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances."
