Two Individuals Charged with Murder of Three-Year-Old London Boy
The Metropolitan Police has announced that two people have been formally charged with the murder of a three-year-old boy from London. Tanisha Henry, aged 28, and Mikael Williams, aged 30, are accused of murdering Isiayah Henry, a young child from Woolwich in south-east London.
Details of the Tragic Incident
Isiayah Henry was admitted to hospital with what authorities described as 'serious injuries'. Police officers were called to the hospital on January 3 following concerns about the boy's condition. Despite the best efforts of medical staff, the child tragically passed away on January 19. The Metropolitan Police confirmed that he has now been officially identified as Isiayah Henry.
Following initial enquiries, a comprehensive safeguarding and criminal investigation was launched by officers. This investigation led to the charges being brought against the two individuals.
Court Appearances and Legal Proceedings
Tanisha Henry and Mikael Williams appeared at Woolwich Crown Court today, where they were charged with murder and causing or allowing the death of a child. Scotland Yard released a statement confirming the charges and the court appearance.
Henry, who is from Woolwich, and Williams, from Southwark, are next scheduled to appear at Woolwich Crown Court on April 22 for further legal proceedings. The Metropolitan Police has assured that Isiayah’s family have been informed of these developments and continue to receive support from specialist officers during this difficult time.
This case remains under active investigation, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward. The community in Woolwich and beyond has been deeply affected by this tragic loss, highlighting ongoing concerns about child safety and welfare.
