PC Craig Pearson from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit emphasised the importance of community assistance, stating, "An investigation into the incident has started to establish the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident. I’d ask anyone in the area to please check CCTV, doorbell cameras and dashcam footage."

Warwickshire Police confirmed that the body of the man in his 50s was found just after 1:30 AM on Monk's Park Lane. In an official statement, they noted, "We have arrested two people after a man’s body was discovered in a road near Atherstone in the early hours of Friday (3 April) morning. Our main line of enquiry is that a vehicle collided with him and left the scene."
