Two Arrested After Triple Stabbing in Barking, London

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a large fight in Barking on Saturday night that left three men with stab wounds, one in a critical condition.

Incident Details

The incident occurred around 11.20pm on River Road, where emergency crews discovered three men aged 28, 23, and 22 suffering from stab wounds. All three were taken to hospital, where the 22-year-old remains in a critical condition. The other two men were later discharged and taken into custody after being arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in connection with the incident.

The Metropolitan Police have confirmed that the 23-year-old became unwell in custody and was returned to hospital.

Police Statement

Chief Inspector Mo Mahmood said: “Our thoughts are with the critically injured man and his family at this very difficult time. We understand the concern this incident will have caused for the local community and officers continue to work at pace to understand what happened. Thankfully we believe it was an isolated incident and we have arrested two people who are currently in custody. We will maintain an increased police presence over the coming days and would encourage anyone with concerns or questions to speak to officers.”

Appeal for Witnesses

“We know there were a number of people in and around the area at the time of the incident and are appealing for any witnesses or those with information or mobile phone or dash cam footage to please come forward. No detail is too small.”

Context

This incident comes after singer-songwriter Talay Riley died after being stabbed in London on Friday morning. The Met were called to an address in Silvertown, east London, at 9am on Friday, where the musician, whose real name is Mark Orabiyi, was found in the garden of a Rayleigh Road property, having suffered stab wounds.
