Floral Tributes for Musician Dre Brown Killed in Moss Side Stabbing

Floral tributes have been left near the scene in Moss Side where musician Adrian 'Dre' Brown, known as StanaMan, was fatally stabbed. Police responded to Raby Street at around 11pm on Friday, May 8. The man in his 30s was taken to hospital but later died. Friends have identified him as Dre Brown, a father of three.

An 18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody for questioning, Greater Manchester Police confirmed on Sunday. A cordon remains on Raby Street, with forensic officers and a blue tent at the scene. Yellow evidence markers have been placed inside the police tape.

Tributes left near the scene include a large pink and white heart-shaped wreath with the words 'world's best'. Another message reads: 'Rest in eternal peace, Adrian, aka Stanna Man. Rest well, thinking of your family and friends at this sad time.' Social media tributes have also poured in, with friends describing him as a 'lovely young man' and a 'kind soul'.

Detective Superintendent Toby Facey said: 'This was a shocking act of violence, and our thoughts remain with the victim and his family at this incredibly difficult time. We believe this was a targeted attack and poses no wider risk to the public.' He added that extra patrols will be in the area.

Police are appealing for dashcam, CCTV or mobile phone footage from the area. Anyone with information should contact police on 101 or via gmp.police.uk, quoting log 4069 of May 8.
