A two-year-old boy was taken to hospital after being attacked by a dog at a property in Glasgow on Monday morning.

The incident took place at around 10am on 26 October at an address on Mybster Place in the Govan area of the city. Emergency services, including Police Scotland and the Scottish Ambulance Service, attended the scene after receiving a report that a toddler had been injured.

The two-year-old was transported to hospital by ambulance for medical treatment. Details about the severity of his injuries and his current condition have not been confirmed.

The dog involved in the attack was euthanised, according to a statement from Police Scotland.

Police investigation underway

Police Scotland has launched an investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident. A force spokesperson said: "Around 9.55am on Monday, October 26, 2026, we were called to a report of a two-year-old boy being attacked by a dog within a property on Mybster Place in Glasgow."

The spokesperson added: "The child was taken to hospital by ambulance for treatment to injuries. The dog was euthanised. Enquiries are ongoing."

Rising dog attack figures

The incident comes as figures published last week showed canine attacks have reached record levels, with more than two incidents involving dogs daily on average throughout 2025. The 880 police responses represented a substantial increase from the previous year.
