Tim Robards' Car Damaged by American Tourist in Sydney Hit-and-Run
Tim Robards' Car Hit by American Tourist in Sydney

Tim Robards, the former Bachelor star, has had an unfortunate run-in with an American tourist after his parked car was struck on a Sydney street. The 43-year-old fitness fanatic extensively documented the incident in a series of Instagram Stories posts this week.

While out for one of his daily runs, Robards noticed that his car had been damaged. A white car parked behind his own had rolled forward, striking his bumper and leaving what he estimated to be $1000 worth of damage.

Waiting in the Rain

Robards waited for the driver to return, only to discover that the man was an American visitor to Australia who was leaving the country in just a few hours. The man insisted he would share his details but then left the scene, forcing Robards to wait in the rain before calling the police.

'He's an American dude, and he said he's leaving the country in four hours. I said, "I still need your details, as there is a bit of damage to the back of my car",' Robards explained in one of several videos. 'And he's like, "Oh okay. Maybe someone pushed me" and I'm like, "No one's pushed you. Your car has rolled down the hill into my car".'

'He said give me a sec, and he'd come straight back. I've been waiting and it's been raining.' He continued: 'I've been standing in the rain and the p***k just left me here for an hour and he's just trying to do a runner... I waited around for over an hour and then decided to call the cops.'

Police Assistance

The policeman there was very considerate and compassionate to the situation. I've made a report and stuff and I have to go through insurance,' Robards said. He expressed anger that the man left him in the lurch, forcing him to now grapple with an insurance claim.

'It's not a lot of damage, but it's the principle. It's still going to cost me a bloody lot of money, and I'm not made of it,' he said. 'It's such a small thing, but just do the right thing! People have no integrity or common good. If you've done the wrong thing, just own up to it okay?'

Robards then explained that his neighbours believed the American man may have been 'filming a porno' at a nearby studio.

Personal Life

Tim and his wife Anna Heinrich moved back to Sydney last year, after leaving their luxury apartment on Queensland's Gold Coast just four months after relocating. The pair snapped up the three-bedroom, three-bathroom property in 2021 for $2.5 million. They have two daughters together: Elle, five, and Ruby, two. Tim and Anna met on The Bachelor in 2013 and married in 2018.
